The ICSOC PhD Symposium 2014 is an international forum for PhD students working in all the areas related to the service computing.
Its goals are:
to bring together PhD students and established researchers in the field of service oriented computing,
to enable PhD students to interact with other PhD students and to stimulate an exchange of ideas, suggestions, and experiences among participants.
to give PhD students the opportunity to present, share and discuss their research in a constructive and critical atmosphere.
to provide students with fruitful feedback and advice on their research approach.
We particularly encourage PhD students that are still developing their research methodology or are somewhere in the middle of their research program to submit to this symposium. Only active PhD students are eligible to submit, and topics are restricted to their doctoral work within the scope of the ICSOC conference.
This symposium in Paris will be the 10th edition of the series held in conjunction with the ICSOC conferences in Berlin, Germany (2013), Shanghai, China (2012), Paphos, Cyprus (2011), San Francisco, USA (2010), Stockholm, Sweden (2009), Sydney, Australia (2008), Vienna, Austria (2007), Chicago, USA (2006), and Amsterdam, the Netherlands (2005).
Submitted papers should give a clear description of the PhD work. In particular, papers must:
Provide a clear problem statement.
Outline the research challenges that drive the proposed work.
Describe the proposed solution, its expected impact, the expected research plan, and the preliminary results.
Discuss the progress beyond the state of the art of the envisioned research outcome compared to current literature and approaches (cite key papers).
